Headaches are often caused by upper neck problems or injuries. A whiplash is a common example. These are very often treatable with manual techniques that physical therapists possess. TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) or jaw problems that may include stiffness, grinding teeth, locking or clicking, and pain is another specialty area our therapists have the ability to successfully treat.
Physical therapy is routinely used to recover functional strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, endurance, and work or sports conditioning after many different types of surgeries. NOMS therapists are trained to rehabilitate individuals after any type of surgical procedure that impairs their ability to function at the most independent level possible.

NOMS Advanced Health Therapy provides a wide range of physical, occupational, speech therapy services to the adult and pediatric populations. We also provide athletic training services to several local high schools.
No. In 2004 Ohio became the 39th state in the nation to authorize physical therapists to evaluate and manage patients without a referral from their physician. However, certain insurance companies require a prescription for insurance reimbursement. ADVANCED HEALTH will assist you in determining if you need a referral from your doctor.
Insurance policies vary. However, most insurance companies cover Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy including: Medicare, Medicaid, HMO/PPO contracts, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Worker's Compensation, Medical-Legal, Medical Mutual, Anthem and others. We also have private pay arrangements and we accept major credit cards.
The type of treatment you need and receive is based professional judgment. Fees are based on treatment selected and the skill/time it takes to provide you with necessary care.
Treatment fees will vary depending on your diagnosis and the treatment plan. In general, there will be an Initial Evaluation fee and a fee for each individual treatment. As a courtesy to you, we will process your claims free of charge. We only ask that you pay the co-pay/deductible portion. Our fees are up to 60% less than our local competition which means less “out of pocket” expense for you.
We have several convenient locations throughout North Central Ohio. Choose the location that is most convenient for you and call that office. Our professional staff will set up an appointment time that meets your schedule and needs.
You will have the option of scheduling your appointments with the same therapist or according to your time needs. Please discuss your preference with your therapist and our receptionists.
Your first visit includes a thorough evaluation. This visit typically lasts one hour. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time for completion of paperwork and account information.
The duration of treatment will depend upon your diagnosis. Typically sessions last 40 to 60 minutes.
Generally, we recommend loose clothing such as shorts for lower extremity injuries and tank tops for upper quadrant injuries. Gowns are available and may be necessary for spinal complaints. Private dressing rooms are available.
